The BBC reported that girls had spoken about the extreme misogyny they experience at school and online, including threats of violence and rape, sometimes dismissed or disguised as “banter”. One girl described the impact of a so-called “rape list” made by boys at her school and told the BBC she felt “worthless” and “frightened”. The BBC quoted her as saying: “It is frightening because you don’t know people’s real intentions.”
