Louisiana sues Food & Drug Administration to stop mailing of abortion medication

Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill filed a lawsuit this week that calls on the federal government to strike down rules that allow the distribution of abortion drugs without an in-person doctor’s visit. Virginia-based abortion funds are citing an increased uptick in calls to their intake lines, as more people rely on their assistance to help cover the cost and sometimes travel expenses to get abortions.  Since federal protections were overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court three summers ago, various states have enacted restrictions or near-total bans on the procedure. "Three years after the Supreme Court opened the door to state abortion bans, most U.S. adults say abortion should be legal -- views that look similar to before the landmark ruling.
